  • January 31, 2015Once you've decided to compete the next question is "so what show are you going to do?" I will try to answer this question as best as I can but this is a huge topic with a lot of considerations. Please add any tips you have from your experiences…. 1. If you are training with a coach, ask what show they recommend. 2. Make sure you are qualified to compete at your chosen show. The IFBB New York Pro is my dream show but I'm an NPC amateur competitor so no NY Pro until I earn a Pro Card. Competing has grown in the past couple years and there have been some shows with 40+ girls per height class. If you prefer to start smaller, check out the local regional shows in smaller cities. 3. If you are able to travel, choose a city you'd like to visit. Part of the fun of competing for me was traveling! The reasons I chose to compete at the Europa Games is because it is a fitness expo so there will be a lot to see and do aside from my competition. It is a two day show and I enjoy visiting Orlando which is a short drive for me. I have awesome friends who are able to attend and celebrate with me. It is a national qualifier, which means I can earn the ability to compete at a National level show in the future. The early May show date allowed me to have 28 weeks to diet down from the end of my reverse diet. Well its time to LIFT! I hope this was helpful…please feel free to ask questions or provide some advice :)
